Spotted Crake, Spotted Redshank and Spoonbill all on 28th July at Burton MEre Wetlands

Running Total for the 2016 UK So Far = 179
We were in Canada for the first three weeks of July so not much birding got done at home. The exception to this was a visit to Burton Mere Wetlands on the 28th of July when we added three “year ticks” in one visit, Spotted Crake, Spotted Redshank and NINE Spoonbills. A bit of a poor month numerically but some real quality. A nice addition was a juvenile Jay in the garden – or at least in the tree overhanging our garden.
