New “Life Ticks” in October: 0 (1 in Mallorca)

October, for us, was largely given over to saving our holiday in Mallroca from collapsing. First we lost the apartment we booked and then a couple of days before our flight the airline company collapsed. In Mallorca things were a little quiet though we had a great holiday and saw 87 specied including a “life tick” Bluethroat.

On our return the weather in the UK was so foul that the penultimate Tuesday date was cancelled and the last date of the month, to Sandbach Flashes, was nothing special. So we had a very poor UK bird count this month. The Greater Flamingoes, Booted Eagles and Purple Swamphens made up for it, though – and the Bluethroat. Hopefully November can see us back on track with our UK birding.
