Summary

I had to do a refurb on our kitchen and dining room so most of our birding was done with the birding group at Marshside and Martin Mere on the 5th where we got year tick Ruff and Whooper Swan. Lso on the 19th when we had a rather disappointing trip to Flint Castle and Burton Mere Wetlands on the 19th and then finally to Pennington Flash on the 26th which was also nothing special. We had a bit more luck with a solo effort on the 28th to Burton Mere Wetlands and, although we did not see the Long-tailed Duck , we did at least get year tick Chiffchaff and Spotted Redshank.

Although the month wasn’t a great birding month for us due to other commitments, March did hint at the forthcoming Spring and all the birds are looking bright and sounding chirpy. You know that Spring is round the corner when you see several Chiffchaffs and een see a Cetti.

In the garden the news its that our neighbours have moved away and taken their f*****g cat with them so the ground birds can feel a bit safer on the lawn now and it is great to open the curtains and not find a cat sitting at the bottom of the feeders.
