Holiday In Spain
A lot of October was spent either getting ready for our holiday in Seville and Cadiz or there. We only did one birding to Brazo Del Este the summary of which is here and details here but, in short we got sixty-six 66 species including 9 lifers and numerous year ticks (for outside the UK that is)
Birding Group
We only managed a couple of birding group dates in October, on the 22nd to WWT Martin Mere and on the 29th to the Wirral for a high tide and where we stopped off at Hoylake, Riverbank Road and RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands.
Garden
Not much happening int he garden this month. Quite a bit of rain and then it got a bit frosty overnight towards the end of the month. I have changed all my bird feeders to circular hot shaped feeders which are certainly keeping the rain off better and, although they are trickier for the birds to feed from, the birds are getting used to them. I keep trying everything I can to keep Woodpigeons, Feral Pigeons and even mice out of the garden.
