New “Life Ticks” in July
Heard a Quail singing in a field in front of the hise at Munlochy Bay on 31st July
We only had one birding group meeting this month and this was the final one of the term at Marbury where things were rather quiet. Apart from that, a few of us went on a very wet day to see the Little Tern Colony at Gronant on the 9th July whcih was very interesting though a little wet. It also gave us Little Terns as a good “year tick” We also dropped in on Flint Castle and Connah’s Quay but the tides weren’t really with us so the visits were pretty standard with no outstanding birds of note.
The rest of the month was given over to a trip to Scotland that took in some family visiting, some solo birding and some guided birding. The “year” and “life ticks” of the trip are listed above but the full breakdown is covered in another post HERE.
