Hoposa Uyal Hotel in Port de Pollenca<\/a>. We had stayed there last Autumn and again this Spring. We were a bit later this year by a couple of weeks so we were not sure how far advanced the Autumn migration would be. Still it was a holiday and the birding is a bonus.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
We set off from Palma airport and the first bird we saw was a rather fancy hen strolling down the highway – I didn’t think we could count that though ! Shortly after that we saw a couple of interesting birds of prey as we passed the Bunyola region but we could not identify them from the car. We had better views of a Red Kite a little later. It was a lovely sunny day even if we were a bit shocked from the 4am start to the day. Accordingly we didn’ t do much that day except to pay a quick visit to La Gola where we got the resident Egyptian Goose, a Yellow-legged Gull , some Mallards and a Grey Heron and some Moorhens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
