{"id":6681,"date":"2017-10-13T19:41:55","date_gmt":"2017-10-13T18:41:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.billneil.co.uk\/blogs\/birding\/?p=6681"},"modified":"2017-10-31T16:48:46","modified_gmt":"2017-10-31T16:48:46","slug":"mallorca-birding-13th-october-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.billneil.co.uk\/blogs\/birding\/2017\/10\/mallorca-birding-13th-october-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Mallorca Birding 13th October 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Portocolom<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We drove out to Manacor which was actually quite near to where we had been with Cristine (Sa Coma) but from there we drove south to Portcolom. &nbsp;At Portocolom we drove out to the lighthouse (which is gated off and closed to the public) but we got out and had a loo around. It wasn\u2019t long before we saw a Blue Rock Thrush perched on a wire fence close by and a pair of Pallid Swift flying around the cliffs at the far side of the bay. There were lots of Stonechats and I suddenly heard a call that I was sure was a Hoopoe.<\/p>\n<p>We walked back down the road a bit and looked in a garden quite nearby, There we found the Hoopoe and watched it singing (or is it calling) for a long time. Eventually another showed up and they had a bit of territorial stuff.
