Our first birding outing of the month with the bird group was to Hoylake and Burton Mere Wetlands on 11th October.<\/a> It was a nice sunny, wind-free day and we got some nice sightings there including year-tick Common Scoters and Raven. We went on to West Kirby Marine Lake but the promenade was closed so we went on to Burton Mere Wetlands, which was quiet but ok for a while. The following week nobody was available for an unattractive visit to Tatton Park so it was the 25th when we reconvened for a visit to Parkgate, Riverside Road, Neston Old Quay, and Burton Mere Wetlands 25th October 2022<\/a>. Highpoints were an interaction of five Marsh Harriers at Neston Old Quay and the sight of at least seventeen Great White Egrets at close rang fishing on Burton Mere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n In the garden, things have continued to be very quiet. A couple of Goldfinches, a Collared Dove and a Ring-necked Parakeet were the highlights.
