Sparrowhawk in our garden

Sparrowhawk in our garden

This Sparrowhawk spent about 20 minutes in a tree overlooking our garden displaying far too much interest in our bird feeders. I think it must have eaten recently because it spent more time preening than trying to catch the various birds that flew by unaware of its presence.

  • Jan 25th Full day. Final itinerary to be chosen nearer time, but Marshside/Hesketh Bank/Martin Mere/Meresands Woods area
  • Feb 1st Redesmere
  • Feb 8th Neumann’s Flash
  • Feb 14th MONDAY . Full day Hilbre Island. No facilities ie take sandwiches.
  • Feb 22nd Lymm Dam
  • Mar 1st Sandbach Flashes
  • Mar 8th Frodsham Marshes
  • Mar 15th TBA
  • Mar 21st MONDAY 2/3rds day Parkgate High Tide (1203-10.15m)
  • Mar 29th Wigan Flashes
  • April 5th Tatton Park
  • April 11th MONDAY 2/3rds day Inner Marsh Farm
  • April 19th Marbury CP, followed by lunch and planning meeting at “Spinner and Bergamot”
